A Concise Guide to Macroeconomics: What Managers, Executives, And Students Need To Know
Curriculum
Global Perspectives
Course Objectives
As the global economy keeps on expanding, “global perspectives”, a required ability for global leaders, increasingly attracts more attention. GLOBIS defines global perspectives as the “ability to grasp and internalize issues at a global level and recognize them.” Students can broaden their perspectives using the following three elements: 1) A macro-perspective which enables students to have a clear grasp of the global situation they find themselves in, 2) Cognitive abilities to understand their country, company and themselves from an objective point of view, and 3) Analogical thinking allowing them to see future outlooks by analyzing past incidents.
Ultimately this course will help students to understand the links between their own lives and those of people throughout the world while increasing their understanding of economic, social and political forces which are shaping the globalized world they live in.
To meet this goal, the protagonists of cases used in this course are not business managers or leaders, but leaders of nations, regions and international institutions.
