Preliminary Screening

Preliminary Screening Process

Application Process for Candidates not Meeting the Admission Requirements

At GLOBIS we aim to encourage diversity and provide opportunity to individuals from different backgrounds. Individuals who are 22 years of age or more, but do not meet the other requirements listed in the Admission Requirements page can still apply for the part-time MBA program through a Preliminary Screening Process. Applicants who successfully pass the Preliminary Screening Process will then be able to proceed to the Document Screening Phase detailed in the Admission Process page.

Please note

  • Individuals under 22 years of age can not apply for the Preliminary Screening Process.
  • The deadlines of the Preliminary Screening Process (see the table below) are approximately 3 to 5 weeks earlier than the formal application deadlines shown in the Key Dates for Admission page. GLOBIS strongly recommends that applicants applying through the Preliminary Screening Process begin to prepare well in advance.

Documents Required for the Preliminary Screening Process

The following documents need to be submitted through our Online Admission System by the deadlines shown in the table below. Please note, applications submitted by e-mail, fax or mail cannot be accepted.

  • (a) Background information about yourself, together with details of your work experience.
(Please attach a CV if you would like to add more information.)
  • (b) A scanned official diploma or a transcript from the school where you received a bachelor’s degree or your most recent educational qualification.
  • (c) A scanned TOEFL or TOEIC score report issued within two years from the date of submission (not applicable to native English speakers or to applicants whose degree or educational equivalent was completed in English).
  • (d) Applicants living outside Japan are required to send a scanned GMAT Score Report issued within the last five years from the date of submission. (GMAT score is optional for applicants living in Japan.)

Preliminary Screening Examination

The Preliminary Screening applicants who live in Japan and do not submit GMAT score report will need to take Preliminary Screening Examination, a logical thinking test. The test lasts for one hour and is held at our Tokyo campus at the dates shown in the “Key dates for the Preliminary Screening” table below. The applicants living in Japan who are subject to the Preliminary Screening Examination should keep their schedules open during the relevant examination dates, or inform the Admission Office upon sending applications for Preliminary Screening that they can not be available.

Preliminary Screening Results

The results of the Preliminary Screening Process will be notified to applicants at the dates shown in the table below, through our Online Admission System and by e-mail.
