GLOBIS Scholarships

All applicants to the Full-time MBA Program are eligible to apply for GLOBIS Scholarships. GLOBIS Scholarships can cover up to 50% of tuition and are available to students who demonstrate the potential to contribute to the GLOBIS community with exceptional academic performance and leadership skills.

    Eligibility
    • You are enrolled in the Full-time MBA Program in 2024.
    • You demonstrate continuous efforts to accomplish what is stated in your scholarship essay and contribute to the program.
    • You complete the requirements for graduation.
    • You agree to act as an GLOBIS ambassador, participate in photoshoots, provide student profiles, interviews or testimonials if requested, and attend scholarship or recruitment events as required by GLOBIS University.
    • You demonstrate outstanding performance during the admission process, including but not limited to extensive international business experience, technology and innovation background, strong academic performance, potential contributions to the GLOBIS student body, and Japanese language ability.
    • You proactively support the growth of the GLOBIS community.
    • You demonstrate a sufficient need of financial assistance.
    How to apply

    Please submit your scholarship essay along with your MBA application on the Online Admission Portal.

    1. How can you contribute to the betterment of GLOBIS University? Please state your plans in 250 to 550 words.
    2. Why is a scholarship important for you to achieve the goals outlined in your MBA application? Please explain in no more than 200 words.
    Result GLOBIS will evaluate your scholarship essay along with the information submitted with your application. Results will be announced through the Online Admission Portal with your MBA application result. Details of the scholarship selection process are strictly confidential.
    Note Enrollment fee, additional tuition for long-term enrollment, non-GLOBIS textbooks, extra-curricular expenses, and living expenses are not included.
GLOBIS Education Loan

GLOBIS University provides financial assistance in the form of GLOBIS Education Loans to non-Japanese students who are admitted to the Full-time MBA program and are studying on a student visa.

    Benefit You can postpone up to 50% of the tuition until six months after graduation, while paying a small handling fee during the one-year program. You will have a maximum of five years to complete repayment.
    Eligibility
    • You have enrolled in the Full-time MBA program in 2024.
    • You possess a student visa by the time of enrollment.
    • You are over 20 years of age, and have a loan guarantor within the second degree of kinship (such as a parent, a grandparent, a spouse, a sibling, or an aunt/uncle).
    • You have completed the requirements for graduation.
    • You agree to act as an ambassador, participate in photoshoots, provide student profiles, interviews, or testimonials if requested, and attend scholarship or recruitment events as required by GLOBIS University.
    • You demonstrate outstanding performance during the admissions process, including but not limited to extensive international business experience, technology and innovation background, strong academic performance, potential contribution to the GLOBIS student body, and Japanese language ability.
    • You proactively support the growth of the GLOBIS community.
    • You demonstrate a sufficient need of financial assistance.
    How to apply Please submit your loan application along with your MBA application information on the Online Admission Portal.
    Result GLOBIS will evaluate your application along with the information submitted with your MBA application. The result will be announced through the Online Admission Portal together with your MBA application result.

JASSO Scholarship

(MEXT Honors Scholarship for Privately Financed International Students) 

The Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) offers scholarship for self-financed students who are expected to hold a student visa.

    Benefit JPY 48,000 per month from October 2024 to March 2025
    Eligibility
    • You will be a student visa holder in Japan.
    • You have completed the application and admissions process outside of Japan, and you are not sponsored by the government.
    • You are not living in Japan when submitting the application and confirming your enrollment.
    • You are not receiving an allowance from a supporter exceeding JPY 90,000 per month.
    • You are not receiving a scholarship from another institution (excluding the GLOBIS Scholarship).
    • You do not have a dependent in Japan whose annual income exceeds 5 million yen.
    • You agree to cooperate in a survey to be conducted by JASSO after graduation.
    How to apply Detailed instructions will be sent by email to those who confirm enrollment
    Result GLOBIS University will submit your application documents to JASSO onyour behalf. Screening will be conducted by JASSO, and the final result will be announced at the end of August 2024.

MEXT Scholarship (University Recommendation)

The MEXT Scholarship is funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan. This scholarship is available only for non-Japanese applicants who pass the screening process in the November application round. This scholarship is extremely competitive, and only a limited number of applicants are selected.

    Benefit
    • Application fee, enrollment fee, and full tuition are waived.
    • Living expense: JPY 147,000 per month from Sep. to Aug. (1 year)
    • Travel expense: Round-trip airfare from your home country is provided.
    Eligibility
    • You have been accepted to the 2024 Full-time MBA Program during the November application round.
    • You will be a student visa holder in Japan.
    • You do not possess Japanese citizenship by the time you enter Japan.
    • You were born on or after April 2, 1989.
    • You possessed a GPA of 2.30 or above throughout the final 2 years of your last educational period.
    • You have not been a MEXT Scholarship recipient within the past three years.
    How to apply An email will be sent to you on the day of your initial screening result announcement to confirm your intention to apply.
    Result
    • Candidates who pass GLOBIS University’s initial screening process for the MEXT Scholarship will receive instructions on further procedures.
    • The second screening will then be conducted by MEXT.
    • The screening result of the MEXT Scholarship is scheduled to be announced in June 2024 (subject to change).

MEXT Scholarship (Embassy Recommendation)

When seeking an embassy recommendation, the application process for your  MEXT scholarship must begin before you  apply to GLOBIS University. Please contact your local Japanese Embassy for more information. The benefits you receive are the same as the MEXT Scholarship (University Recommendation).
