Course overview

In this course, students will learn skills to visualize ideas and create prototypes using the online digital tool Figma. We will start with the core principles of digital design and basic Figma functions. Later, we will move on to practical exercises based on a short case study. This case study will present familiar user issues that are easy for students to research independently.

In the first half of the course, students will learn to propose ideas for products and services that solve problems. In the latter half of the course, students will break up into groups to develop their ideas into prototypes, experiencing the process firsthand.

This course also casts light on the importance of teamwork and feedback. Students will share their designs and discuss areas for improvement.

In the last session, each group will present a final prototype. This practical approach will ensure a deep understanding of design thinking and the prototyping process, enhancing students’ ability to apply their skills to real-life projects.

This course is best suited to students who want to gain skills that will enable them to swiftly bring business concepts and user-centric design thinking to life; those with limited resources who would like to test business ideas as prototypes that resonate with investors and clients; marketers seeking to predict customer responses and assess market reception; and leaders who aim to efficiently collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
