Global Mobility Service (GMS), founded November 2013 in Tokyo, is an innovative, mobility-focused FinTech company. Combining FinTech and IoT technology to drive social change and economic growth, GMS ensures economic participation for those who cannot access traditional auto loans due to credit screening.
GMS leverages IoT technology and partnerships with financial institutions, dealers, and end users to minimize financial risk while providing individuals with the loans necessary to make a living - in turn increasing access to new, lower-emission vehicles and thereby reducing CO2 emissions.
In serving this market need, GMS has received a number of prestigious awards, including first prize at the 2018 “Global Open Innovation Contest” (sponsored by NTT DATA Corporation) and the 2018 Mizuho Innovation Award. GMS was also selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) for the Japanese government's "J-Startup" program - receiving a government scholarship for "start-up companies that can succeed on the world stage."
With a global target market segment of approximately two billion people, GMS has business in Japan, the Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, and other ASEAN countries. GMS is also attracting major attention - with major shareholders that include SoftBank, Sumitomo Corporation, Sojitz, Kawasaki, and GLOBIS Capital Partners.
