Critical Thinking

Course Objectives

As the pace of change in the business world increases, there is growing demand for business professionals with the capacity to take a high-level, overall view of complex, changing situations and phenomena, analyze facts and information to identify issues requiring solutions, and make appropriate judgments rapidly. Moreover, there is a growing need to match these individual thinking skills with the capacity to convey ideas effectively and efficiently to diverse audiences, both inside and outside one’s organization, to obtain understanding, agreement, and buy-in. The basis for these capacities is the ability to think critically. In this course, students will learn to perform critical evaluations free from preconceptions and bias, and identify new ways of solving problems.

From Day 1 to Day 4, students will learn how to identify business problems and formulate solutions. On Day 5, students will learn how to communicate their conclusions to a specific audience. On Day 6, students will do an overall review of what they learned during Days 1 through 5.

Critical thinking is a fundamental skill that enables every businessperson to carry out his or her work efficiently and effectively. Whether you feel your skills need an upgrade, or are looking to achieve more at work, this is a course that every businessperson should take, regardless of industry, area of responsibility, or age.

Therefore, we have to choose in which aspect we would like to focus. Being able to answer the above question gives you a clear criteria on where to focus. Maybe no one can answer the question with 100% certainty, but it is important that we keep searching for the answer. I am looking forward to discuss with you in this never ending quest."

Communicating your ideas and persuading others is critical to your success as a leader and business professional, whether as an entrepreneur, an employee of a large firm, or member of the public or not-for-profit sectors. No one is born as a natural presenter, it comes with a lot of work, practice, learning from your mistakes, and learning about yourself. My goal is to help you build your confidence and ability to present effectively, clearly, and persuasively, to a global audience. Find the uniqueness which you bring to your presentations, strengthen that, and use it to persuade, inform, and inspire others!
