David Malkin is an AI architect at Cogent Labs Tokyo. He has a PhD in computer science from the University College London, which focuses on the optimization of complex networks, including neural networks, using genetic algorithms and other biologically inspired optimization techniques.
Following his studies, David worked in the finance industry in London, using machine learning to develop high-frequency trading algorithms. Foreseeing the huge impact machine learning would have on industry, David established an AI consulting firm in London to help companies adapt to deep learning and other ML technologies.
In 2015, David joined Cogent Labs, where he now works on research and business development. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience with the wider business community and often speaks at events about the current and future role of AI in industry.
At GLOBIS University, he teaches Robotics and AI Business Innovation.
