The GLOBIS Venture Challenge (G - CHALLENGE*) is an annual business plan competition for all GLOBIS students and alumni. The contest targets startups and early stage ventures (less than 3 years since its founding) and aims to provide opportunities to those who want to grow mega ventures. 

* The name has changed to G-CHALLENGE


GLOBIS University will host the 7th G - CHALLENGE for the following purposes:

  • Real-world opportunities to help students build a real team and develop a business
  • The chance to receive mentoring from teammates and experienced judges
  • Opportunities to gain numerous supporters for their company
  • Receive scheduled opportunities to raise funding for their company

Since its founding, 237 teams have participated and many GLOBIS students have taken a step toward a new future. The Grand Prize winner(s) will receive “investment from Globis School of Management” for up to a whopping JPY 10,000,000 in funding!

  • Application Period: Aug 23 (Fri)- 30 (Fri), 13:00
  • Preliminary Result Announcement: September 27 (Fri)
  • Final Presentation: November 4 (Mon), GLOBIS School of Management, Tokyo campus


Companies that meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for G - CHALLENGE:

  • At least one of its board members is a GLOBIS MBA student or an alumnus (excluding Pre-MBAs)
  • The company must be either 1., legally established (for at less than 3 years prior) or 2., have been established within one year
  • The applicant must declare that the company is willing to receive the investment from the GVC fund upon receiving an award
  • Non - profit organizations are not eligible
  • At least one of the management members must commit to the business on a full-time basis (not as a side/second job)
  • Selected finalists must attend the finale, which is held on November 4th (Monday / Holiday) at the GLOBIS School of Management, Tokyo campus.
  • Final presentation should be delivered in either Japanese or English
  • Willingness to accept funds from GLOBIS Venture Challenge Fund after winning


Phase One: Fill in the entry form and submit it by the deadline.

You will be required to fill out the following details to the entry form:

  • Team name
  • Company Status (Legally registered company/ Unregistered company)
  • Company name/Company address/Website URL (if any)
  • Shareholder and number of shares/ Stock price (at latest capital increase)/Number of other shareholders/Total number of shares owned by other shareholders
  • Business plan summary (400 characters or less)
  • Name of the GLOBIS MBA student/alumni who will manage the company FULL-TIME
  • The followings about the representative (leader) of your company:
    - Name
    - Year enrolled
    - Program
    - Students or Alumni 
    - GLOBIS Email address
    - Roles, skills (achievements), and current duties within the board team. (400 characters or less)
  • The following details about the other member (if your company has more than two board members):
    - Name
    - Year enrolled
    - Program
    - Students or Alumni
    - Roles, skills (achievements), and current duties within the board team. (400 characters or less)

Phase Two: Submission of the business plan

Designated style 

  • A4 size up to 20 pages (including cover and attached documents)
  • Submit as a PDF file
  • Font (Word, Pages, etc.): 10 points or more
  • Presentation software (PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.): 18 points or more (10 points or more for graphs and diagrams)
  • Send to GLOBIS School of Management, G-CHALLENGE Secretariat (gvc@globis.co.jp)

Contents that should be included in explanation materials 

  • Business overview (business scheme, value provided, etc.)
  • Business attractiveness (marketability, competitive advantage, profitability, feasibility, etc.)
  • Financial plan (income, investment, funding, etc.)


The Grand Prize will be given to four teams, who will receive an investment of up to 10 MILLION YEN per company.

Other benefits include:

  • Long-term mentoring for up to one year by GLOBIS Graduate School of Management (subject to acceptance of investment)
  • Classroom rentals at Tokyo campus (can be used as a venue for seminars)
  • Promotion of the services and products (postings on campus)
