Learning about Social Innovation at CBS – our students in Thailand

GLOBIS students visited Chulalongkorn Business School (CBS) for a 3-day study trip in Thailand

GLOBIS University students travelled to Thailand for a 3-day study trip, organized by our program partner Chulalongkorn Business School (CBS). Under the theme “Social Innovation in Thailand”, our students participated in class lectures, workshops, and field visits, as well as extracurricular activities to make the most out of their time in Thailand.

23 students from both the English and Japanese MBA Program joined the CBS Visit Program. We also had the opportunity to visit Full-time MBA alumni, Adisara Zen and learn about her family business, Siam Hands, which is one of the leading apparel manufacturers in Thailand.

 

Highlights of the Program

  • Gaining knowledge about the history and culture of Thailand and how it ties into current social innovations
  • Workshop on  creating video game input device prototypes for physical rehabilitation
  • Lots of extra curricular activities for students to connect with alumni and experience their trip to the fullest

 

Program Schedule

Day 1

Getting to know Thailand and its economy

  • Lecture “The Thai Economy and Sustainability” by Associate Professor Mr. Kanis Saengchote, PhD
  • Lecture “Innovation for Social Inclusion” by Mr. Chatchai Aphibanpoonpon, Founder of Klong Dinsor
  • Extracurricular GLOBIS MBA Gathering & Networking Pool Party
Day 2

Experiencing the Thai Economy

  • Company visit “KLOUD by KBank” by Mr. Karin Boonlertvanich, Ph.D Head of Corporate Strategy and Innovation Division and Mr. Pornput Suriyamongkol First Vice President
  • Company visit “MITR PHOL Sugar Corp.,Ltd”
Day 3

Deepening understanding of Social Innovation 

  • Lecture “ESG as a Driver for Social Innovation in Thailand” by ​Dr. Kanok Kamchanapoo CEO at SUSTRIC and CBS Adjunct Lecturer
  • Lecture “The Secrets of Long-Living Companies: Navigating the Test of Time” by Dr. Kritinee Pongtanalert Lecturer in Marketing and Innovation at Chulalongkorn University
Day 4

There is always more to learn

  • Optional tour to Siam Hands Co., LTD.​ Factory Tour

Final Thoughts

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone involved in the 2024 CBS Visit Program, making this program a success once again.

CBS students will come visit us in Tokyo next month and we are highly looking forward to returning the appreciation and hospitality we enjoyed in Thailand.
