Emelia Mansa Agblewornu
What's your work background? And your current job position?
My background was mainly in academia where I lectured courses leading to International Advanced Diplomas issued by the National Computing Centre, UK. I enjoy sharing what I know with others especially young people to help shape their dreams in life and to contribute to the development of their societies.
I am currently not employed right now as I am fully focused on my studies. I’ve done some internships to help enhance my skills. I plan to invest most of my time in my venture when I return to Ghana.
What made you consider taking an MBA degree?
I firmly believed that the GLOBIS MBA program would offer me the opportunity to build upon the knowledge base I acquired during my undergraduate studies by exposing me to practical facets of principles and concepts that I had studied earlier due to the linkages with industry. In this regard, the case method of learning utilized by GLOBIS University has been very helpful.
Why did you decide to come to Japan?
I personally admire the culture of humility, work ethic, adherence to rules, creativity and the constant quest for quality in everything. These are admirable traits that we all can learn and apply to improve our lives and our societies. In addition to all these I received funding/scholarship for study and I thank God for it every time.
Can you share your Personal Mission with us?
Using horticulture to create a better and healthy life by enhancing access to healthy food and combating malnutrition in Ghana and beyond.
- Helping to feed my society well with quality and fresh vegetables;
Result: Healthy mind and body for all
- Reduce unemployment and poverty through job creation;
Result: Peace of mind and happiness
So far, what's the best aspect of studying at GLOBIS?
The best aspect of studying in GLOBIS is the humble and selfless lecturers, most of whom make me believe in myself more than I have ever done. I have learnt to look at the ‘BIG PICTURE’ and think about things from different dimensions.
Most importantly, thanks to GLOBIS for stressing on our PERSONAL MISSION in life. I have found and learnt to continuously develop and be true to myself, be a leader with a heart always and never to take anybody for granted. GLOBIS has been able to touch my heart by this, and I will always carry this with me and teach others about it. Thanks to you all for a great job. Long live GLOBIS!
