What's your work professional background?

I have eight years of experience in the education industry in both Korea and Japan.  This includes instructing business professionals to refine, develop and communicate with confidence in English.  I didn’t intend to stay in this industry for so long. However, it was through this experience that I developed facilitation and leadership qualities.

What made you decide to do an MBA? Why the GLOBIS MBA?

It was through working with Tokyo professionals in a wide variety of industries that I became more interested in the business world.  People would often come to me with their work problems, issues, or projects. I was more than happy to converse with them, but it soon became apparent that there were some gaps in my knowledge.  I was inspired by my students to try to solve problems such as the ones we often discussed, and I decided to challenge myself and pursue my MBA.

Why did you decide to do an MBA at GLOBIS among other business schools?

For me, GLOBIS had the appeal of being more practical in their approach.  There were many working professionals from all walks of life who had global mind-sets.  Living in Japan, I wanted to be with people with that kind of mentality. I have had the privilege of having all kinds of intellectual exchanges with my classmates at GLOBIS. And the most rewarding part is that I have been surrounded with quality people who were not a key part of my network.

Can you share your Personal Mission with us?

My personal mission is to make our work environments energizing and fulfilling. The education industry is one where employees aren’t first. In fact, they are often last.  I believe that, if you put your employees first, it will organically have a positive effect on your business and customer base. I hope that the English education industry in Japan can change for the better so that customers can receive great service and employees can feel positive about their work.

After my MBA I hope to follow my passion.  I have not yet decided exactly, but one of my stronger skills is writing and I would like to be connected to that in some form.

What advice would you give to potential prospects who are interested in taking the GLOBIS MBA?

The best aspect of GLOBIS is the people.  The leaders with their great vision for our education, the teachers who guide us through our MBA journey, the students who are always friendly and ready to meet up for study groups, and the people in student services and other departments who make everything run behind the scenes.  We have great people, and that is what makes GLOBIS great.
