From the very beginning of the application process, I could already feel the strong support from the GLOBIS community. The Student Recruitment Office guided me closely through the application steps, and once I was accepted, the Admissions Office supported me with all the necessary documents and preparations. After arriving at the school, the Student Services Office was always available whenever I needed help or advice.
I had studied in both Mongolia and the United States before, but I have never experienced this level of care and support. Even my classmates, who had also studied abroad, said the same. Honestly, the GLOBIS student services system could be a case study on how to deliver an outstanding student experience.
Inside the classroom, we are taught by lecturers from many different professional and cultural backgrounds. Whenever I wanted to dive deeper into a subject, the lecturers were always open and willing to make time for me. And it wasn’t always just about class topics. For example, our lecturer Trond Varlid and I both share a passion for books and history, so we often exchanged ideas and even books. These kinds of genuine connections are what I truly value, and they are what make the GLOBIS community so special.
I have always admired people who can deliver strong and engaging presentations. For me, standing in front of others and speaking has always been a challenge, which is why Business Presentation became my favorite course.
In this class, we started with the fundamentals—what actually makes a presentation effective—and then, more importantly, we had many opportunities to practice in front of our classmates and receive direct feedback. From the very first day, our lecturer created a safe and supportive environment, which made it easier for all of us to try, improve, and support each other.
While I’m still far from becoming a great presenter, this course helped me discover my own style for preparing slides, and, above all, gave me the confidence to stand and speak in front of others. Thanks to that, I now feel motivated to keep practicing and improving.
At GLOBIS, networking felt like a natural part of the program. GLOBIS regularly organizes events throughout the year, giving us many opportunities to connect with professionals from a wide range of industries. In fact, during just one year of the program, I collected as many business cards as I had in the past ten years of my professional career.
One of the highlights was attending the G1 Global Conference, hosted by our school founder, Hori-san. It brought together leaders from various industries, and I had the chance to meet and speak with influential business figures, including a government minister.
Outside of school, I also found great opportunities to connect with people through my personal interests. I love running, and Tokyo is full of running communities and events. Through this hobby, I met many friendly people, joined a few local running groups, and became part of a welcoming community. It’s been a fun and natural way to make new friends and build connections beyond the classroom.
At first, I wasn’t sure how to approach the internship process in Japan, especially as an international student. But during orientation, the Career Center explained each step, and an alumna shared her own experience, which gave me a realistic understanding of what was possible.
The Career Office also offered online consultations, where I could ask about my career direction, get advice, and even join mock interviews. Thanks to this strong support system, I got a head start on preparing my resume and improving my interview skills.
When it was time to apply, I felt prepared and confident. I chose a company that aligned with my values and aspirations, but also challenged me to grow. I’m currently interning at a Japanese corporation, NOK. I received a warm welcome in my role as a Global HR Strategist, and the experience has been great so far.
In the end, I realized that the opportunities are all there; the key is whether you take the initiative to seize them. I’m grateful for the support I received, and I’m excited (and nervous) about where this journey will take me next.
