“I decided to pursue an MBA to transition to a higher level in my career. I wanted to develop the analytical skills I hadn’t gained during my undergraduate and graduate studies and position myself as a professional capable of handling complexity and creating added value.
After exploring several part-time MBA options, I found that GLOBIS offered the best program. What stood out to me was its strong emphasis on practical knowledge rather than pure research or academia. I wanted to acquire concrete skills that I could immediately apply in real-life scenarios, and GLOBIS made it clear from the start that this was a core aspect of their approach. Looking back, I am happy to say that I made the right choice.”
“I tried to take as many classes as possible on campus rather than online to maximize the learning experience and interactions with my fellow students. Balancing full-time work, private life (I became a father during my MBA!), personal projects, and studying was challenging at times; I won’t deny it. However, GLOBIS’s MBA program is flexible enough that I could increase the number of classes I took per term when circumstances allowed and reduce my study load when necessary.”
“In hindsight, the classes that enriched me the most were the ones I found most challenging. For instance, Accounting and Finance courses, as well as Business Analytics courses, were particularly difficult for me as I didn’t have much prior knowledge in those areas. At first, it felt overwhelming, but this challenge motivated me to work extra hard to catch up.
These courses helped me realize how important it is to develop a mindset grounded in numbers and data. Inspired by this realization, I pushed myself to take more advanced classes in these subjects. Over time, my understanding of these topics grew exponentially. I now see this as one of the most valuable takeaways from my MBA, as now my mindset and approach to decision-making is very much data-based.”
“Definitely yes. I took the Technovate Thinking class, which was an introduction to algorithms and coding. That class showed me how fascinating coding can be and sparked my interest in learning more. Since then, I’ve started learning SQL and Python, which have become big passions of mine and key skills I plan to leverage as I continue my career.”
“Hard skills were an extremely valuable part of my MBA journey and one of the main reasons I pursued it in the first place. However, the most impactful experience was developing my kokorozashi—a personal mission—and defining concrete actions, timelines, and even Plans B and C to implement it.
I came to GLOBIS to gain skills, but I realized that hard skills only truly matter when they serve as tools to achieve something bigger—a purpose that gives them meaning. That’s what kokorozashi is all about. The program pushed me to design a clear blueprint for how I want to use the skills I’ve gained and how I intend to live my life moving forward.”
