Application Procedure for Specialized Education and Training Benefits

The application for Specialized Education and Training Benefits must be completed prior to enrollment into GLOBIS University. Eligible applicants must submit separate applications to GLOBIS University and Hello Work by their respective deadlines. Late submissions will not be accepted.

*To apply for the additional benefit after the program completion, you must be enrolled in employment insurance within one year of program completion.

Application flow:
1. Get a career consultation and obtain a Job Card at Hello Work (pre-enrollment)

At least one month before the start of the Part-time & Online MBA program or Full-time MBA program, you must attend a pre-training career consultation. To schedule a consultation, please contact the Hello Work branch which has jurisdiction over your home address. If you require an English-language consultation, please contact Hello Work as soon as possible. It may take some time for HelloWork to arrange a consultation with an English-speaking staff member.

2. Submit required documents to Hello Work (pre-enrollment)
  • Part-time & Online MBA Filing Deadline: Wednesday, September 16, 2026
    (For students who are scheduled to enroll in October 2026)
  • Full-time MBA Filing Deadline: Monday, August 17, 2026
    (For students who are scheduled to enroll in September 2026)

Part-time & Online MBA

Please complete sections 7 and 8 of the form in Japanese as written below:

2. Job Card

Received from Hello Work. (See Get a career consultation and obtain a Job Card at Hello Work (pre-enrollment) for more information)

3. Identification with photo

Please bring one of the following documents:

  • Japanese driver’s license
  • Basic Resident Registration Card(住民基本台帳カード)
  • My Number Card

If you do not have any of these, please bring two of the following documents (copies are not acceptable): (i) Passport (ii) Certificate of Residence (or copy of resident register or certification of official registration of a seal) (iii) National Health Insurance card. A Residence Card may be acceptable. Please confirm with your local Hello Work office.

4.1. Individual Number (My Number) verification documents

Please bring one of the following (copies are not accepted):

  • My Number card
  • My Number notification card
  • Certificate of Residence (juminhyou) with My Number printed
4.2. Identity confirmation

Please bring one of the following (copies are not accepted):

  • My Number card
  • Japanese driver's license
  • Other identification documents issued by a government agency (with photo)
5. Two photos Identification photos taken within the last 6 months, facing forward, upper body visible, dimensions 3.0cm (height) × 2.4cm (width).
6. Notification of Reapplication for Specialized Education and Training Benefits

This notification is required only if you have received any of the following training benefits in the past:

  • Professional Practical Education and Training Benefits
  • Specific General Education and Training Benefits
7. Bank book or cash card of the preferred bank for benefit receipt. Must show the account holder's name in katakana and the account number.

If you have already submitted a "Preferred Financial Institution for Benefit Payment Form" for other employment insurance procedures or if you choose to use a government benefits account registered in My Number portal site ("Mynaportal") these documents are not necessary (note that registration of your MyNumber with Hello Work is required).
8. Power of attorney Required if the procedure is being carried out by a representative. Additionally, please attach the representative’s identity confirmation documents (see "4.2. Identity confirmation").

For details about the Specialized Practical Education and Training Benefit System and application procedures, please confirm with your nearest Hello Work office.

3. Filing before enrollment with the GLOBIS Student Services Office
  • Part-time & Online MBA Filing Deadline: Wednesday, September 30, 2026
    (For students who are scheduled to enroll in October 2026)
  • Full-time MBA Filing Deadline: Monday, August 31, 2026
    (For students who are scheduled to enroll in September 2026)

File the Application with the GLOBIS Student Services Office via the Virtual Campus after you complete the application at Hello Work.

4. Filing during enrollment with Hello Work (every 6 months)

During enrollment, you need to file an application for the benefits with Hello Work within one month after the end of each six-month period (payment unit period). By filing the application, 50% of your net tuition payment for the period will be paid to you as benefits (up to 400,000 JPY per year).

Details will be posted in the notifications section of Virtual Campus around one month before each benefit application period.

Steps to receive benefits:

  • Check the notifications on Virtual Campus for details about preparation and the required documents for your benefit application.
  • Obtain the necessary documents issued by the university (sent by mail).
  • Submit your benefit application at Hello Work.
  • Receive the Specialized Practice Education and Training Benefits (transferred to your designated bank account).

Note: Receipts for all periods are required when applying for additional benefits after completing the program. While Hello Work may retain some receipts, it is generally recommended to keep copies in your possession.

5. After program completion: applying for additional benefits (within 1 month after joining employment insurance)

You can apply for this additional benefit within one month of joining employment insurance. If you were already enrolled in employment insurance at the time of graduation, you must apply within one month of the program completion date. Please prepare the necessary documents and submit your application at Hello Work.

To qualify for this additional benefit, you must:

  • Earn the qualification associated with the course you completed (e.g., an MBA for this program).
  • Be employed and enrolled as a general employment insurance policyholder within one year of completing the program.

By applying, you can receive an additional reimbursement of 20% of your out-of-pocket tuition costs (up to 320,000 JPY for Part-time & Online program students, and up to 160,000 JPY for Full-time program students).

Note: You must enroll in employment insurance within one year of completing the program and be an active policyholder when submitting your application.

6. After program completion: applying for additional benefits (within 1 year after joining employment insurance)

The application period for this additional benefit is six months, starting six months after you enroll in employment insurance (or, if you were already a policyholder at the time of program completion, six months after the completion date). Please prepare the necessary documents and submit your application at Hello Work.

To qualify for this additional benefit, you must:

  • Complete the program and secure employment.
  • Achieve a wage increase of at least 5% compared to your pre-enrollment wage within one year of starting employment.

By applying, you can receive an additional reimbursement of 10% of your out-of-pocket tuition costs (up to 160,000 JPY for Part-time & Online program students, and up to 80,000 JPY for Full-time program students).

Note: You must enroll in employment insurance within one year of completing the program and be an active policyholder when submitting your application.

  • The documents to be submitted may differ depending on individual circumstances. If you wish to submit your documents through an agent, the agent will need your power of attorney. For details, please visit the Hello Work and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare websites.
  • Please note that GLOBIS University will not be responsible for an applicant’s ineligibility to receive benefits due to an incomplete application or insufficient paperwork.
