Biography

Kentaro Muto is a co-founder of newmo Inc. as well as its director and CFO. Since its founding in January 2024, Kentaro has led Series A fundraising at newmo, raising a total of 12 billion yen. He has also overseen corporate divisions, helped to launch fintech business initiatives, and managed the acquisition and post merger integration of two taxi companies, Kishiko and Miraito.

Until March 2024, Kentaro served as CFO at PLAID, Inc., but still maintains a position as director. At PLAID, he led the company’s global IPO on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers Index, secured funding from Google during its pre-listing phase, spearheaded M&A deals with EmotionTech and ajito, and oversaw all administrative departments.

Prior to PLAID Inc., Kentaro gained extensive experience in the field of finance during his time with various companies including Deutsche Asset Management, Deutsche Securities, and the Long-Term Credit Bank of Japan (now SBI Shinsei Bank).

At GLOBIS University, Kentaro teaches courses in finance, accounting, and venture management.
