GLOBIS University held its graduation ceremony for the English Full-time MBA Class of 2022 on August 27. All 23 graduating students attended the ceremony in person, with some family and guests joining both remotely and in person. This year’s graduates come from 10 countries: Bangladesh, Cuba, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

While delivering his commencement speech, GLOBIS University President and Founder Yoshito Hori shared these words: Enjoy your adventures. We have been teaching you to take risks. If you do not take risks, you will not gain any return or add value to societies. We do not want you to live lives with No Risk No return. We want you to be adventurous and visionary. If you take risks, you will surely face adversity. Adversity is a great opportunity to improve yourself. If you are in your comfort zone, you are not learning or improving yourself. We want you to be courageous to enjoy adversity.

Saint San Oo, a graduate from Myanmar, spoke about the growth she’s seen in herself and her classmates during their time at GLOBIS; In class, I witnessed the empowerment of each other everyday by providing a safe learning environment. Our class discussions towards the end of the year were more vibrant than in the beginning. A lot more people were participating and expressing their opinions… Over the past year, we’ve all evolved because of the support that we’ve received from one another. Many of us have come out more confident, mindful, and in my case, less success oriented.

Bradley Wargo, from the USA, shared about learning from failures; There is a Japanese proverb that says ‘Nana korobi, yaoki,’ which translates to fall seven times, stand up eight. Graduation is us standing up after the lessons we have learned this past year. It marks a new chapter and an exciting one at that.

We wish all graduates every success in their future endeavors!
