Tuition for the Full-time MBA program is 3,845,000 JPY.
There is an initial enrollment fee of 225,000 JPY which is to be paid within one month of the deadline for confirmation of enrollment.
The total cost for the 1-year Full-time MBA program is 4,070,000 JPY which is to be paid in full in August 2023.
Payment to be made by bank transfer.
Please note:
- Any tuition paid for credits earned in the Pre-MBA (individual MBA courses) will be deducted from the Full-time MBA program's total.
- You can extend the program beyond 1 year by paying the extension fee of 267,000 JPY.
Scholarships and Loans
GLOBIS Scholarships
GLOBIS Scholarships can cover up to 50% of tuition and are available to students who demonstrate the potential to contribute to the GLOBIS community through strong academic performance and exceptional leadership qualities. To further demonstrate academic capabilities we recommend scholarship applicants to submit a GMAT or GRE score during the application process.

The scholarship amount does not cover the following fees and expenses: enrollment fee, additional tuition for long-term enrollment, non-GLOBIS textbooks, extra-curricular expenses (ex. off-site elective courses), and living expenses.

- Continuous efforts to accomplish what is stated in the scholarship essay and contribute to the program
- Complete the requirements for graduation
- Agree to act in an ambassadorial role, participate in photoshoots, provide student profiles, interviews or testimonials if requested, and to attend scholarship or recruitment events as required for GLOBIS University
- Outstanding performance during admission including but not limited to extensive international business experience, technology and innovation background, strong academic background, and potential contribution to the GLOBIS student body
- Proactively support the growth of the GLOBIS community
- Sufficient need of financial assistance

Please submit the scholarship essay along with your GLOBIS application information on the Online Admission System.

GLOBIS will conduct the screening based on the scholarship essay and the information submitted for application. The final decision regarding the GLOBIS scholarship will be sent on the day of the final admission result announcement. Details of the scholarship selection process are strictly confidential.
GLOBIS Education Loans
GLOBIS University provides financial assistance to non-Japanese students who are expected to hold a student visa. If you are granted a loan, you are able to postpone up to 50% of the tuition until six months after graduation, while paying a small handling fee during the one year program. You will have a maximum of five years to complete repayment of the loan.

Scholarships from Other Organizations
Several organizations not directly related to GLOBIS provide scholarships for privately financed international students and/or Japanese students. Once applicants confirm their enrollment, our student services team is happy to assist with the application process(es).

JASSO Scholarship (Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately-Financed International Students)
This scholarship provides stipends for living expenses and other expenses related to coursework for six months. (For reference, the monthly stipend was JPY 48,000 for 2022).

(1) Eligibility (subject to change)
- Is expected to hold a student visa upon enrollment
- Is not sponsored by a government
- Does not receive an allowance from a supporter exceeding 90,000 JPY a month
- Does not receive a scholarship from another institution excluding the GLOBIS Scholarship
- Does not have a dependent in Japan whose annual income exceeds 5 million JPY
- Will cooperate in a survey to be conducted by JASSO after graduation
(2) How to Apply
Detailed instructions will be sent to those who have confirmed their enrollment to the 2023 Full-time MBA Program.
(3) Screening Process
Screening will be conducted by JASSO. GLOBIS University will submit the application documents to JASSO on behalf of the applicants and the result will be announced by GLOBIS University once notified by JASSO.
MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) Scholarship
1. MEXT Scholarship for University Nominated Students
This scholarship is available only for non-Japanese applicants who pass the screening for our MBA application in the November round. The scholarship covers 100% of tuition/enrollment fee, your living expenses for one year (for reference, the monthly stipend was JPY 147,000 for 2021), and a roundtrip airline ticket to your home country. Please note that a limited number of applicants will be selected for this scholarship.
(1) Eligibility
- Accepted to the 2023 Full-time MBA Program in the November application round
- Expect to hold a student visa
- Non-Japanese (you cannot have Japanese nationality by the time you enter Japan)
- Born on or after April 2, 1988
- Have a GPA of 2.30 or above for the last 2 years of your last educational period
- Not a MEXT Scholarship recipient within the past 3 years
(2) How to Apply
An email will be sent on the day of the initial screening result announcement to confirm your intention to apply.
(3) Screening Process
GLOBIS University will conduct the initial screening based on the information submitted for application. Candidates who passed GLOBIS University’s initial screening for the MEXT scholarship will receive instructions about further procedures. The second screening will be conducted by MEXT and the final result is scheduled to be announced around the beginning of June, 2023 (subject to change).
2. MEXT Scholarship for Embassy Nominated Students
Application for this scholarship will begin prior to application to GLOBIS University. Please ask for more information at your local Japanese Embassy. This scholarship can cover both the total tuition and your living expenses for up to one year.
Besides the above scholarships, there are additional scholarships offered by private institutions.
You will receive detailed information regarding these scholarships after starting your MBA program. Please note that many of these scholarships have specific requirements including nationality restrictions and Japanese language ability.
Education Loans from Other Organizations
Financial institutions introduced by GLOBIS University offer educational loans (with favorable interest rates). Please note that you are required to speak and read Japanese in order to understand the contract. If you need further information, please contact the Admissions Office.
Specialized Practice Education and Training Benefits for the Full-time MBA Program
The MBA Programs under GLOBIS University have been designated as an education and training facility by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. If certain conditions are satisfied, the maximum benefits of 560,000 JPY can be granted to the MBA students over 1 year. To see a sample application form, please click here.

What are Specialized Practice Education and Training Benefits?
The purpose of the benefits is to support the mid- and long-term career development of workers and to promote employment stability and re-employment. When a general insured worker (employee or former employee) under employment insurance has satisfied certain conditions and completed the Specialized Practice Education and Training that is designated by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, a part of the education and training expenses will be reimbursed to the worker by HelloWork (with an upper limit). Eligible Persons
To be eligible, you need to meet the following criteria:
- Completion of the program within 1 year
- Eligibility for employment insurance in Japan for a given number of years prior to the start of the program
- Meeting the requirements set by GLOBIS University every six months after the start of the program
If you are receiving Specialized Practice Education and Training Benefits for the first time:
You will need to have been eligible for employment insurance for at least two years cumulatively or have lost the eligibility no more than a year prior to the start of the program.
If you have received Specialized Practice Education and Training Benefits in the past:
You will need to have been eligible for the employment insurance at least three years cumulatively between the start of the previous course that was subject to the previous benefits and the start of the program. The total amount of the benefits available is 1.68 million JPY over 10 years.
NOTE: The University is unable to determine your eligibility for the benefits. Please contact HelloWork to confirm your eligibility.

NOTE:
- The above example shows the case for full payment of the standard tuition.
- The benefits are to be paid every six months upon your filing at HelloWork each time. The amount of benefits may vary depending on the amount of tuition you paid. Deductions due to scholarships will reduce the amount of benefits available.
- You are required to complete the program within 1 year in order to receive the benefits.
- Upon earning 48 credits, you are not required to take any additional courses. You are required to complete the program in order to receive the additional (second) payment.
Specialized Practice Education and Training Support (Basic Daily Allowance)
If you are eligible to apply for the Specialized Practice Education and Training Benefits and meet some conditions (e.g., being unemployed and under the age of 45), you also may be able to apply for the Specialized Practice Education and Training Support. You will receive 80% of "the basic daily allowance*" every two months for the period of your study. Please contact the HelloWork for more details.
*The basic daily allowance is the allowance given by the Employment Insurance. It amounts to about 40% to 80% of “daily wages” during employment, the value of which is obtained by dividing the total wages of the past six months just before leaving work by 180. There is an upper limit for the basic daily allowance.
Requirements set by GLOBIS University

- Acquire more than 20 credits at the end of Module 3
Procedures for Application
Before the Start of the Program
Consultation required prior to application
At least one month before the start of the Full-time MBA program (usually at the end of August), you must attend a pre-training career consultation.
To schedule a consultation please contact the HelloWork branch which has jurisdiction over your home address. We strongly advise you to contact HelloWork as soon as possible if you are not fluent in Japanese, and will require your consultation in English. HelloWork will make arrangements to provide an English-speaking staff member. Please note that this may take some time, so start this process as early as possible.

Your pre-enrollment application is required at the start of the entire procedure.
There are a set of forms that you can obtain through HelloWork, one of which needs to be certified by your employer. Please confirm the details in time for the application deadline.

Filing During Your Enrollment (every six months)
Upon your enrollment to the program, you need to file an application for the benefits with HelloWork within one month from the end of each six-month period (payment unit period). By filing the application, 50% of your net tuition payment for the period will be paid to you as benefits (up to 400,000 JPY per year).

Filing After Your Completion of the Program (within one month)
You may file an application with HelloWork in order to receive the additional (second) payment. Please submit the same documents as those described as above for the procedures to be taken while you are enrolled in the program. The filing is due within one month from the next day of your completion of the program.
You will become eligible for the additional (second) payment if you obtain the degree that was subject to the benefits and are to be employed as an insured worker within one year from the next day of your completion of the program. If you are employed as an insured worker at the time of your completion of the program, you need to file an application within one month from the next day of your completion of the program.
NOTES:
- The documents to be submitted may differ depending on individual circumstances. If you wish to submit your documents through an agent, the agent will need your power of attorney. For details, please visit the Home Page of HelloWork and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
- Please note that GLOBIS University will not be responsible for the loss of your eligibility to receive the benefits due to your incomplete application or insufficient paperwork.
Cost Summary
A single person can expect to pay at least 150,000 JPY/month depending on housing and lifestyle. A 2-3 person family may expect to pay about 1.7 times the cost of a single person, but the actual cost may vary.
