What made you choose the GLOBIS MBA?

“I felt I hit a wall in my career where I couldn’t grow anymore. I needed extra training. I was also aspiring to be a manager and didn’t want to “wing it.”

I also wanted to learn frameworks so I could put language around what I was doing at work.

There were many MBA programs I could have chosen from around the world, but I chose GLOBIS because of the mix of Japanese and international cases. As my customers are Japanese corporations, I wanted to learn more about them. GLOBIS seemed the best place for this.”

How did GLOBIS help you achieve personal and professional changes?

“I got promoted twice during my MBA–in fact, I became a manager mid-way into my MBA course.

My vocabulary has also changed. I can jump into meetings feeling more confident. Even when I was still studying, I was also able to take what I learned in class and apply it the next day at work. “

How did you network during the program?

“There are various opportunities to network at GLOBIS. I was part of the student leadership group, so I helped organize different types of social events, including the graduation after-party and the Mito program during Golden Week.

Since graduating, I have joined one of the regular hybrid MBA Gatherings and intend to continue doing so as an alumnus. “

What are your favorite memories from GLOBIS?

During COVID-19, we couldn’t hold study groups physically, so we would meet before class to prepare and then after class to review the material. It required a lot of time commitment, but through endless Zoom calls outside of class, I got to know my classmates. I appreciate all their time and effort to study together and wouldn’t trade that time for anything.
